A Linux Service Engineer is required to join a buzzing media organisation in order to assist with managing several hundreds of servers running Solaris, Linux operating systems for administrative and betting applications in a 24x7 environment.

The responsibilities of the Linux Service Engineer- (Linux, UNIX, RedHat, Solaris, Apache, SSL, SAN, SQL, London) will include but is not limited to:

- Addressing operational issues, installing software, applying patches, managing file systems, monitoring performance and troubleshooting commercial, open source and locally developed monitoring tools

- Liaising and working with vendors, suppliers, and professional services

- Ensuring availability compliance to SLAs

- System failure analysis and recovery and ensuring consistency and integrity of all systems

In order to be considered for the role of the Linux Service Engineer-(Linux, UNIX, RedHat, Solaris, Apache, SSL, SAN, SQL, London) the following is essential:

- Experience surrounding Solaris, Linux, Apache, SSL and SAN

- A minimum of 4 years professional systems maintenance experience in a UNIX/Linux environment

- Solid experience with system management tools, logical file systems, and client/server environments

- Strong networking and troubleshooting capabilities

- Knowledge of MySQL, Oracle and RMAN, Informix, Veritas NetBackup, System monitoring tools, EMC storage technologies, Cisco experience
