Zaheer Abbas says Indian players look jaded ? Cricket News Update

Legendary Pakistan batsman Zaheer Abbas has said that the Indian cricket team looks jaded after having too much cricket, and has urged the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to rest the Indian players.

Abbas? comments have come after India slumped to yet another series defeat, and that too in a pathetic way, as Pakistan thrashed the reigning world champions by 85 runs in the second One Day International of the three-match series, here at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday. The 85-run victory gave Pakistan an unassailable 2-nil lead in the three match affair, after the tourists had won the series opener in Ahmedabad by six wickets.

While speaking to media reporters after Pakistan?s series clinching victory at the historic Eden Gardens, Zaheer Abbas said that the India-Pakistan match was a battle of nerves, in which the latter did better and deserved to win the series.

"I did not expect such wins. It was a battle of nerves and Pakistan did better to win it," said the Asian Bradman on Friday. "On the contrary, the Indian players were tired. They have played too much cricket recently and have not performed to the potential," added the legendary Pakistan cricketer, who played 78 Tests and 62 One Day Internationals for his country, scoring 5082 and 2572 runs in each format respectively.

Defending a respectable total of 250 runs, the Junaid Khan led Pakistan attack bundled out the star studded Indian batting line up for just 165 in 48 overs. Abbas, 65, who was one of the most successful Pakistan batsman against the archrivals, India, smashing six Test centuries, including two double tons, and three ODI hundreds, credited Pakistan bowlers for the impressive back-to-back wins against MS Dhoni and Co.

"Pakistani bowlers maintained an accurate line and length and none of the Indian top order batsmen could fire," said the batting legend. ?bowlers like Umar (Gul), Junaid (Khan) and (Saeed) Ajmal did not let the famed Indian batting line-up open their hands," he added further.

The veteran, who was widely known as 'Asian Bradman' for his run scoring abilities, also lauded Pakistan batsmen, especially the opening duo of Nasir Jamshed and Mohammad Hafeez, saying, "Pakistan has done exceptionally well. Nasir and Hafeez were particularly brilliant with the bat.?

Abbas also had a word of praise for Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq?s captaincy tactics.

The third and final ODI between the nemeses will be played in Delhi on Sunday, January 6, 2013.
